Our commitment
Upright Promo believes responsible sourcing is part of delivering merchandise people are proud to give, receive and use. We seek to work with suppliers that operate ethically, treat people with dignity, provide safe working conditions, reduce environmental harm and produce goods that meet applicable quality and safety requirements.
This Supplier Code of Conduct applies to suppliers, manufacturers, decorators, subcontractors, agents and other business partners involved in providing products or services to Upright Promo. Suppliers are expected to communicate these standards to the facilities and partners supporting our orders.
Legal and regulatory compliance
Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations and recognized industry requirements in the countries and communities where they operate. When this Code establishes a higher reasonable standard than local practice, suppliers are expected to work toward the standard in this Code without violating applicable law.
Required licenses, permits, registrations and records must be current, accurate and available to the appropriate authorities.
Labor and human rights
Employment must be freely chosen. Forced, bonded, indentured, trafficked, prison or involuntary labor is prohibited. Workers must not be required to surrender identity documents, pay improper recruitment fees or face unreasonable restrictions on movement.
Child labor is prohibited. Suppliers must follow applicable minimum-age laws and protect lawful young workers from hazardous work, night work or duties that interfere with education.
Workers must be treated with dignity and respect. Discrimination, harassment, abuse, threats and inhumane treatment are not acceptable. Employment decisions should be based on legitimate job requirements and not protected personal characteristics.
Suppliers must comply with applicable requirements for wages, benefits, working hours, overtime, rest periods and leave. Workers must receive clear information about their employment terms and compensation. Lawful rights of association, representation and collective bargaining must be respected.
Health and safety
Suppliers must provide a clean, safe and healthy workplace. Hazards should be identified, evaluated and controlled through appropriate procedures, equipment, training and personal protective equipment.
Facilities must maintain reasonable emergency plans, fire protection, unobstructed exits, first-aid resources, incident-reporting procedures and access to potable water and sanitary facilities. Any supplier-provided housing or transportation must also meet applicable health and safety requirements.
Environmental responsibility
Suppliers must comply with applicable environmental laws and permits and manage waste, wastewater, air emissions, chemicals and hazardous materials responsibly. Materials should be stored, labeled, handled and disposed of in ways that protect workers, communities and the environment.
We encourage practical efforts to reduce energy and water use, prevent pollution, minimize packaging and waste, increase recycled or responsibly sourced content, and measure environmental impacts where feasible. Environmental and sustainability claims must be accurate, supportable and not misleading.
Product quality, safety and integrity
Products and decoration supplied for Upright Promo orders must conform to approved specifications, samples, artwork and applicable product-safety requirements. Suppliers must maintain appropriate quality-control processes and promptly disclose known defects, safety concerns, substitutions, material changes or compliance issues that could affect an order.
Product descriptions, certifications, testing records, country-of-origin information, material claims, intellectual-property representations and other documentation must be complete and accurate. Counterfeit, diverted, unauthorized or knowingly infringing products are prohibited.
Suppliers must support reasonable traceability and timely corrective action, including notification, investigation, containment, replacement or recall when warranted.
Business ethics
Suppliers must conduct business honestly and fairly. Bribery, kickbacks, extortion, embezzlement, fraud, money laundering and improper payments are prohibited. Gifts, meals, travel or entertainment must never be offered to improperly influence a business decision.
Actual or potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed promptly. Business records, invoices, testing documents and communications must accurately reflect the underlying transaction. Suppliers must comply with applicable competition, trade, sanctions, import, export and anti-corruption laws.
Confidentiality, data and intellectual property
Suppliers must protect confidential business information, customer information, personal data, artwork, trademarks and other intellectual property entrusted to them. Information may be used only for the authorized business purpose and shared only with personnel or approved partners who need it and are bound by appropriate protections.
Reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards must be maintained. Suspected loss, unauthorized access, misuse or disclosure must be reported to Upright Promo promptly.
Subcontractors and responsible sourcing
Suppliers remain responsible for the performance of subcontractors and production facilities supporting Upright Promo orders. Work must not be moved to an undisclosed facility when disclosure or approval is required for quality, compliance or customer commitments.
Suppliers should use reasonable due diligence to understand the origin of materials and avoid sourcing that finances conflict, relies on illegal activity or contributes to serious human-rights or environmental harm.
Accountability and corrective action
Suppliers are expected to maintain records reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with this Code. Upright Promo may request relevant documentation, certifications, questionnaires or corrective-action information when appropriate to an order or identified risk.
If a concern is identified, we generally seek timely, good-faith corrective action. Serious violations, misrepresentation, failure to cooperate or repeated failure to improve may affect future business or result in termination of the supplier relationship.
Speak up
Questions or concerns about this Code, suspected misconduct or conditions connected to an Upright Promo order may be reported to support@uprightpromo.com or by calling 404-793-6088.
Reports should be made in good faith. Suppliers must not retaliate against a worker or other person for raising a concern, participating in an investigation or refusing to engage in unlawful conduct.
